Meet Andy

Hi, my name is Andy Farrell and I’m on a mission to help business owners take control of their financial future. Before launching Farrell Financial, I spent years in the corporate finance world, but I’ve always had a passion for small business — and I knew I wanted to be a business owner myself someday.

My career started at Capital One, where I worked in commercial credit underwriting. I analyzed cash flow and determined creditworthiness for middle-market businesses, then moved into roles where I supported high-level executives with financial scenario planning — helping them see how different decisions could impact their bottom line.

After that, I joined FIS, a financial technology company, as part of a team supporting the fastest-growing section of the business. I did a lot of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) work, but what I loved most was building financial business cases for new product ideas, helping leaders figure out which opportunities had the highest potential.

As much as I enjoyed that work, I realized that small business owners — the backbone of our communities and economy — weren’t getting the same level of financial support. I talked with a lot of owners before starting Farrell Financial, and I kept hearing the same thing:

  • They didn’t fully understand their numbers.

  • They weren’t sure what was working and what wasn’t.

  • They had no clear plan or way to track progress.

  • They were unsure of their next move.

This is exactly what my entire career had prepared me to do, and I knew I could make a real difference. So, I took the leap and started Farrell Financial to bring high-level CFO services to small businesses, helping owners gain clarity, confidence, and control over their finances.

Why I Love What I Do

There’s nothing better than watching a business owner have that “light bulb” moment. When I walk them through what’s happening in their business and why, I can literally see the relief and clarity set in. It’s empowering — because once they get it, they’re able to start making decisions that move the needle. And that’s when real progress happens.

Life Outside of Numbers

When I’m not diving into financials, I’m all about exploring and trying new things. I love fly fishing, traveling to remote places that feel like the edge of the earth (my wife and I have been to Everest Base Camp!), and driving through new neighborhoods just to check things out. We even lived on a bus for a year while working remotely, taking it coast to coast!

These days, you’ll often find me rocking on the front porch with my wife and son, enjoying happy hours with friends, or heading to local festivals and concerts. I also have a bit of a competitive streak — I’m currently training for my first Spartan race!

Oh, and fun fact: I’m a dual citizen of Ireland and, believe it or not, I was on Season 5 of America’s Got Talent, where my friends and I placed 3rd. (Ask me about that story sometime!)

Hope to connect soon.
